Release of 299 public domain works by the German National Library

For the “Public Domain Day 2020”, the German National Library will make digitised works of 296 public domain works freely available online. The entire “Public Domain Day 2020 collection” can be found on the online portal of the German National Library.

Together with the German Museum of Books and Writing, the German Exile Archive 1933-1944 and the German Music Archive, the German National Library have selected authors, artists, great personalities and many creators away from the spotlight who have shaped culture, society and history with their works. These includes books and shellac records with works from Klaus Mann (author), Richard Strauss (composer), Hans Pfitzner (composer & author), Hermann Levy (political scientist / author / exile) and many more.

The 299 works provide an insight into the extensive holdings and special collections of the German National Library.
